Scrap Quilt Update

Today was a day off here in Italy so...I worked on my scrap quilt again...
I've started to piece all the nine patch blocks...

Lately I sewed some little things like pouches, bags...but...it was too much time that I didn't work on a quilt so...I'm very excited!!!!

I 've started this morning to piece, had a break for fix lunch and then...go ahead sewing for all the aftenoon...

I made a total of 40 nine patch blocks (in the pic you can see 9 rows but they are 10...), plus 40 plain block for a total of 80 blocks...
As I decided to try the "As you Go" method for quilting my quilt, I sewed all the blocks in rows, assembling together 4 big pieces of 20 blocks each...

So now, as the 4 parts are not so big, it should be easier to quilt them...
Hopefully...it will not be too much tricky to join them together after they are quilted but...I can't know this until...I'll do it...

Anyway, I love the way it turned out mixing and matching all these colorful fabrics...
I've had lot of fun today working on the quilt and...it keeps my mind busy...
I strongly need this...not a nice period here...

A quilt for Viola

Who's Viola?

Viola is a cute little girl, she was born about 3 weeks ago and I still never met her...

But...I'm making a sweet baby quilt for her...

Her Mom is the daughter of one of my really dear friend ans so I'm so happy to give her this little gift!

I chose some nice, bright and happy colors for her quilt.

Now, all the blocks are done, I have to sew them togheter and...finish the quilt!

Not the fun part...I love to make blocks and sew the top but...ohhh...the quilting part...is all another thing...LOL!!!!

But...I need to do it... :O)

A work in progress: my shawl

Hi! in a OLDER post  I told you about a new challenge for myself...make a lace shawl. Well...those are my progresses. This pattern is really so beautiful and so easy to follow and I'm having so much fun making my shawl. I still have to make some rounds (8 more) and then add the fringes and...it will be done. I really can't wait to wear it!!! I only have a doubt...I will have to block it and...I never did it before with something so big...do you have some tips or suggestions? Thanks so much and...have a wonderful Friday!!!!

A work in progress...

Ok...yesterday after work, after dinner, after setting the kitchen and after a shower (...) I worked till late night to my wall quilt...

Actually... I only need to make 3 more blocks and then I can start to assembly the top...

Let's go girl...I can do it!!!! :O)
