Colorful Crochet

Hello!
How are you all?
March is already here but...the weather probably didn't notice that LOL!!!
Here we are having icing, snow, rain...
More close to Winter then Spring actually but...you know...everything could change in few hours...
So, for puttin myself in a happy mood, I decided to show you some colorful Mandalas I made last year...

When I was a child, both my Grandmas were so good in handcrafts...
I was lucky enough to have one living near me (in the north of Italy) and one living so far, in the south of Italy.
I said I was lucky because they both were great women and totally different.
Anyway, Grandma living near me was so good in knitting, she made me tons of beautiful sweathers...
The other one was great in crocheting, she made beautiful shawls, blankets, sleeping socks ...
But...as often happen, I was not interested at all in learning knitting or crocheting...
Now...I regret every day that I've never asked them to teach me but...you know...it's too late...
They both passed away several years ago and so...I "asked" to the web to teach me...
It's not the same thing of course but I've learned how to crochet watching videos.

I have to say that I was not interested in crocheting in the past because here around crocheting was just doilies...I never liked so much white doilies...well...not at all in effect...
But...browsing  through the web I found lots of beautiful and colorful crochet things so I started to like crochet...
In the past I made myself some beautiful shawls and scarves, coasters and I've also made some Amigurumi (they are totally addicting LOL).
Then...I discovered Mandalas and...I fell totally in love with them...
They are a sort of modern doilies but totally different!
Fun and colorful, exactly the kind of things I love to make!
So...there are few I made...

I spent some fun hours making them

And they make me happy each time I look at them

So...what about you?

Crochet Projects

Hello!
Patchwork is not my unique passion...I also love crochet!
I find it so relaxing and and I can do it everywhere...
Actually I'm working on two different projects...just because one is not enough LOL!!!!

The first one is a "long" project...I'm making a granny square blanket...
A friend of mine gave me 3 big balls of beautiful grey yarn and so I decided to make a blanket...

I love colors so I added some colors to my grey blanket...
I'm using a light green, pink and light blue yarn too...

I'm liking the way it's turning out and I like the fact that I can do it every day...watching tv or listening my favourite music... Granny Square is a really easy crochet pattern and this is great for relax...

For my second faster project I chose colorful cottons...

I found a nice pattern on internet ...it was for a sit cover but I decided to make it as a big and colorful doily for my kitchen table...

For spring season I strongly need colors LOL!!!!!

I've just started this second project today so...I'm sharing with you my progress...

I think it will be bright and happy...

This is how it's turning out...I can't wait to have it done and put it on my table...

Crochet blanket

 Hi there!!!!
How are you today?
We got snow past night, lot of snow...so now all around is white and cold...

The perfect weather for crafting...
I'm going ahead with my crochet blanket but...not sure I should...
I love the pattern, so easy and so nice but...I think it's a bit too "chunky"

And I think it requires so much yarn and I only have 3 big balls...
So, I'm not sure I'll like it...

I think I could make a striped granny square blanket using less yarn...
What do you think?
Any suggestion?

Hello my Friends!!!!!!!
How are you today?
Here it's a cloudy and cold Sunday...in effect we are expecting snow...
I really hope that...it will not snow here...ok...it can snow in the mountain but...not here...LOL!!!

I love snow but...I would like to be able to take my car out of the garage and...if it snow...I can't do it...

Anyway...I need to work on new projects at this time for keep my mind busy and also for relax myself...

I saved tons and tons of wonderful projects on Pinterest but...I feel soooo much lazy and demotivated lately and...I didn't start anything new...

Now...I've got 3 big big balls of a wonderful grey yarn and...I decided to make myself a blanket...
I found crocheting so much relaxing and so...I'm going ahead with this idea.
I'm browsing the web for searching a pattern that I like and...I found  tons of them.
But one particularly catch my attention: it's called brain dead and...the name...says soooo much about it...LOL!!!!
You have to make a chain, then the first row in a way and...from the second to the last row...you always work the same way...LOL!!!!!
Can you find something easier than this????
And...it also looks  very pretty!
So now...I'm going to start it and then I'll let you know how it is going...

One to keep and...one to give

Hello my Friends!!!
How are you?
Are you ready for the week end?
finally my working week is ended and Friday night is my favourite time of the week at all...still so far from Monday and...still the whole week end to live!!!!

I finished my crochet placemat and I love the way it turned out...I love this neutral color...it's perfect for all season...

So...this one is to keep...I made it for myself...just for the love of making it!

Now...I'm looking for another fun crochet project to start!!!!!
I've finally got my sewing machine back...YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
It went away for just one week but...believe me...it seemed a year for me!!! LOL!!!!
So...I made a gift to give...

I made this cute and so useful fabric clutch for my friend Nico's Birthday!

I used 2 fat quartes of coordinating batiks and this is the result.

This is really so useful and I'm going to make one for myself too now that I've developed the pattern!

It's perfect for hold all these little "girls' secret things"...

Hooked on Wednesday!

Hello My Friends!!!!!
How are you today?
I feel good but...a bit sad...
Unfortunately yesterday I had to bring my sewing machine back to the shop because..."she" doens't work very well...


Stitches were perfect on the back but...not so neat on the right side and this is really strange because usually...if there are tension problems...happens exactly the oppsite...perfect stitches on the right side and...bad stitches on the back...
Plus...I also have problems with the embroideries...
So...I have to stay more than a week without sewing and I really hope that it will not be anything of too much serious or too much expensive... :O(


Anyway...I can't stay all this time...mmm...without make something so...I decided to do some crochet project!
I found THIS pretty pattern on Raverly for a crochet placemat and...I hooked it!!!!

I took my soooo big ball of natural crochet cotton yarn and a very old hook (it was one of my Grandma's hooks and so will make my placemat more precious!)

I just love how my project grows in my hands row after row...

And I can't wait to make another row for admire the result...

Now it's starting to take form...

And I'm loving it...
I still have few rows to make but I think I'll finish it tonight or at least...tomorrow night...

Happily Crocheting

Hello my friends!!!!
How are you?
Hope everything is ok for you all... :O)

Winter is still here...cold temperatures and snow all around...
So this is the perfect time for...stay inside and do our favourite crafting...
During these cold days, I love to stay inside, near the fireplace, with a cup of hot tea (sometimes...hot chocolate...LOL) and...crochet!
I found it so relaxing...
So, I would love to show you some projects I did lately...

Here there are some doilies...

I have to say that I've never be a big fan of crochet doilies...my grandma made them but...always lace doilies with really tin white cotton...not my style at all...LOL...

But making them with colorful cotton and  4mm hook...well...I think they look nice!!!

So, THIS IS  the free pattern I used...

Then, I made this one with chunky yarn...
It remembers me a snowflake and I think it's so snowy...
I love it for winter time...
I used THIS FREE PATTERN...

For the 1st time...I made crochet buntings...
They are so much fun to make and looks great in every room of your house!!!

And...last...this is my work in progress project...a ripple rug...

I loooove ripples but...never made them before...tought they were so hard to make...

But...I found THIS TUTORIAL from Lucy Attic24, it's so easy to follow...

And I'm enjoying make my rug...

New Year...New Project!

Hello my friends!!!!
How are you?
Did you have a nice end a great new start of the year???
I hope you did!!!!
Every year, the firsts days are so busy planning and dreaming about what we would like to do this year...
Finish old projects, start new ones, new challenges, improve something or try something new...
Doesn't matter how many of these projects will find a nice end...LOL...it is always nice to plan them!

So, my crafty new year starts with a new crochet project...
I chose something nice and easy and I decided to make it with my friend Nico.
She lives enough far from here so...it should be nice to do the same project at the same time and share each others progressess...
I found this nice Granny Basket on a crochet magazine bag and I chose the yarns...

My basket will looks  a little  different to the one on the magazine as I decided to use leftovers yarns from my stash!
This is a great project for do this!!!

I've already started to crochet the 1st block and I'm having so much fun!

So...can't wait to go ahead with this project!!!
