Another UFO done!

 Hello!
Today I'm Happy to show you another UFO I finished last year...
I started it several years ago and then as often appen with big projects...I felt tired to work on it and I put it away and then...I completetely forgot about it...

Last year, while I was searching a piece of batting for another project...I've found this in a drower...

I didn't understand immediately wich lost project was it but searching better...I found the pattern too...

I decided to go ahead with it and try to finish it...
Surely I should have done the most part of the work...or so was what I tought...
This is what I did in the past so it seemed to me that...not much extra work was required...
Mmm...totally wrong... LOL...

First I found that I don't like at all that flower basket in the corner with the white background...I really could not remember why I chose the white instead a yellow for example...
So...instead to make the other 3 corners blocks...I put away this one and make other 4...

Then I pieced together some of the blocks in rowsfor the quilting part.
I decided to use the As You Go method because the quilt was big enough to make it difficult to quilt it all together...

Once all the pieces were quilted...I cut all the excess of batting and joined together the whole quilt...

At this point...I've add the backing and sew the binding but I didn't take pics of this...

And...TADAAAA...my beautiful quilt finally was done and he got a special place in my sewing room...

If you ever had UFOs...and if you are a quilter...you surely had...you know the big joy you feel when you finish one of them!

So was for me.

Few gifts I made lately

    Hello! ! I'm back and I want to show you some gifts I made lately... This one was for a friend of mine's daughter... She moved into a new house with her family and so when I went to visit them...I brought them this little present... It's a cross stitch embroidery made with my sewing machine...                        

       Surely for the hand cross stitch lovers this is not a cutie but I can say that it's lovely and it was so fun make it and...of course...quickly than do it by hand 😬😬😬 I think they appreciate it... 😊                                

   Then I made two patchwork pillows... They were for 2 young girls...the pattern is the same but the color scheme changes according to the colors they have in their rooms... so...the one above was made with all the shades of green... For the one below I choose shades of pink, light and dark grey and a bit of gold...  

  Finally I made other two embroidery in the hoop... The first one is a cute cross stitch snowman embroidered on a light blue felt... Felt is perfect for this kind of embroidery, not only because the embroidery looks better on felt but also because it's easier to set the back too cause you can cut the felt and it does not fray at all...  

 Last but not least... I made this fun embroidery showing Mr. and Mrs. Claus dancing together...

I love it...it's so happy and fun...

UFO's Fun!!!

Never tought I could have had fun working on my UFO's but...I was totally wrong...

I found these 2 stars blocks  I made several years ago and decided to make something nice with them...

So...started sewing...adding something and tooking away something else...

And this is the result...2 big size mug rugs...colorful, brights and happy...

I'm so satisfied about the result and finally they are no more UFO's but...FINISHED PROJECTS!!!

YAY!!!!

Can't wait to work on the next one...already chose it... ;O)

Working on my UFO's

Hello my friends!
How are you going?
This morning I was looking for some fabrics in my stash and I found...a tons of UFO's LOL!!!
So...I decided to work a bit on them...

I can't remeber at all why I made these star blocks...but surely I made them several years ago...
I found along them lots of other UFO's...you know...every quilter has lots of them...
Well...I chose this block:

As you can see this block has 3 borders so I should have added another one...

But instead of add one more border I decided to throw away them all...

This was not a big block but it has a nice size and I tought I could make something cute...

So I added backing and batting, quilted it and...TADA!!!

 I made a fun washing machine cover!!!!

Finally this block has a place in my house!!!

As it didn't take me so much to finish it...I chose another block...

This one was really small but I loved it so much...

So in this case...I've add borders all around...

And in half an hour...it became a super cute pillow cover...

Doesn't it look great on my sofa?

As I told you before...I have tons of others UFO's waiting to be transformed into finished project...

So...my goal for this year is try to finish them...or at least...some of them!!!

Sewing Sunday

Hello my Friends!!!
How are you going?
It's Monday again...the week end unfortunately went away so quickly...
But...I've had a very fun Sunday...
My friend Luciana come here and we spent the whole day sewing these super cute origami bags...

They were really so fun to make...we chose happy and brilliant fabrics and this is the result...

We started sewing one...then...the second one...and it seemed that we really can't stopped sewing them...

Every fabrics we chose gave them a different look and it was amazing to see how they turned out...
They really make pretty gifts...we can fill them with lots of things...make up, accessories, threads needles and fabrics, biscuits, candies...

I think they are perfect for any occasion...change the fabris and fill them with goodies for make a very personalised gift...

We started to fill our Xmas box with these bags and we intend make lots of other cute things from now till December so...when Xmas will come...we will be ready!!!

It's never too early to start with Xmas gifts isn't it? LOL!!!

And finally...yesterday...when my friend left my house...I finished a project that I've started mmm...I really can't remember when but...at least 3 or 4 years ago...

It was another Sunday sewing day and along with my friend we sewed this super cute box...

I sewed it all around and just leave the bottom to sew...

But...this bottom...took me soooooo long  to be done....LOL

Now..it's done and I'm proud of myself LOL!!!

I have tons of other UFO's to sew...we will see what I'll do with them...

From house to HOME

Hello My Friends,
how are you going?
I'm fine and pretty busy this week end...today housework and cooking but tomorrow...fun!!!
A friend of mine will come here for a whole day of sewing...can't wait!!!
Ok...now...let's talk about this post title...
Now...there are a bit more then  4 months that I'm living here in my new flat...
I love it more then the older one so...I decided to add a touch of me in it...
I put here and there some quilts I made in the past...
Some in my bedroom...

I've also put one on my bed...

And  fews on this beautiful wood ladder...

Some in my sewing room too...

Now I'm making some changes in the kitchen too...and I'll show you when all will set...

 I'm feeling my flat more then my home and not  simply a house...

I think it's warmer now and everyone will come  will immediately know that a quilter lives here...
