Happily Crocheting

Hello my friends!!!!
How are you?
Hope everything is ok for you all... :O)

Winter is still here...cold temperatures and snow all around...
So this is the perfect time for...stay inside and do our favourite crafting...
During these cold days, I love to stay inside, near the fireplace, with a cup of hot tea (sometimes...hot chocolate...LOL) and...crochet!
I found it so relaxing...
So, I would love to show you some projects I did lately...

Here there are some doilies...

I have to say that I've never be a big fan of crochet doilies...my grandma made them but...always lace doilies with really tin white cotton...not my style at all...LOL...

But making them with colorful cotton and 4mm hook...well...I think they look nice!!!

So, THIS IS the free pattern I used...

Then, I made this one with chunky yarn...
It remembers me a snowflake and I think it's so snowy...
I love it for winter time...
I used THIS FREE PATTERN...

For the 1st time...I made crochet buntings...
They are so much fun to make and looks great in every room of your house!!!

And...last...this is my work in progress project...a ripple rug...

I loooove ripples but...never made them before...tought they were so hard to make...

But...I found THIS TUTORIAL from Lucy Attic24, it's so easy to follow...

And I'm enjoying make my rug...

How are you?
I didn't post often about my Etsy Shop so today I would love to show you my latest addictions...
This is my new pouch style, a heart shaped zipper pouch.
I'm so in love for it because it's nice, it's pretty, it's roomy and so unique!
It's part machine sewed and part hand sewed and it requires about 3 hours of work...
I've already made one in purple and I'm going to make others...

This is really so useful and practical!!!

Hello my Friends!!!
How are you?
It's Friday again and...we will have a very cold week end...
After the "big" snow of last week end, this one we are having...ICE...

Temperatures fell down in an unusual way ...we are having -10° and tomorrow we will have -16°...
Wow...this surely it's not usual here...LOL!!!

So...we are having a some beauties like these in my pics all around here...

If you don't need to go outside...it's beautiful...if you need to go outise...it's a disaster...LOL...

I've already started some new crafting project so...I'll stay inside, near the fireplace for a couple of days...enjoing this crazy winter...

Snowy Crochet Cowl Tutorial

Hello and happy Monday to all!!!!

Yesterday we have had a loooooooot of snow and so...I finished my crochet cowl...
Just in time for wear it today to go to office...it's warm, soft, cozy and...perfect for winter!!!!

It's easy and fast to make so, I decided to write here my own pattern, in case someone would like to make it too...

Pattern:
I used a very bulky yarn and a N (10mm ) crochet hook.
Gauge is not critical for this project...

Chain 55 and join with slip stitch.
As you surely will use another kind of yarn, measure the chain around your neck, it should be large enough to be confortable but not too big otherwise it will not keep you warm.
You are working in the round so, try very hard to not twist your chain.
Chain 2 and then Half Double Crochet in any chain till the end of the row, join with slip stitch.
Go ahead in this way until your piece measures about 9" (22.5 cm).
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Now, chain 75 and fasten off.
Using a security pin, pull your chain through your stitches, at about 1.5" from the top of your cowl and...TADAAAAAA!!!!
You're done!!!
You're now ready to go outside and...stay warm in a cold winter!!!!!

We got the very first snow of the season...
It's strange as we are already on the 29th of January but...this is exactly what I saw this morning when I got up...

Everything is white and silented...

Snow all around...

And does not seem to have any intention to quit...

We have about 35 cm till now...
And...it's still snowing...
We are having our...Christmas in January...LOL!!!

Hello my friends!!!
How are you today?
Here in the north of Italy it's a sunny day this morning but...clouds are near...
We are expecting snow for tomorrow and Sunday...the very first snow this winter here...
We will see...

In the meantime...I'm looking for some new project to do and...I founf this looooovely round crochet rug, made using T-shirts yarn...

As I've already told you, I fell in love for this kind of yarn, especially because you can re-use old t-shirt intead of gettin them away...

This rug is on sale but I think it's should be easy enough to replicate it...
And...working with T-shirt yarn that is very bulky...I think it's also a quick project...the kind of project I like the most...quick, easy and...fast...LOL!!!
Have to try this!!!!

A new week is started...how far the week end is??? LOL!!!

I never tought a old T-shirt could be recicled and became something amazing and...new!!!!

How are you?
I simply...feel down...like this sad puppy in the pic...

Probably anyone has similar days...I just feel down, I'm getting overwhelmed and I don't know what I can do...

I'm overwhelmed at work...lots of things to do and to remember...
I'm overwhelmed at home...lots of things to do and less free time for me...
The more things I do...the more things I still have to do...or at least...this seems to me...
In these days...all seems to be very difficult to do...also things that in other days I can accomplish in few minutes...and this give me more stress...

What a bad day today...and yesterday...and so the day before...
Hopefully, in the week end...I'll feel better...
What do you do when you are in this kind of day?
I'd love to hear some suggestions and get some help... :O)

Something for myself...

How are you doing?
Holidays season is now only a memory...and "normal" life is back again...
I've had few days off to work last week and so I decided to make finally something for myself...

With all the handmade Xmas gifts for family and friends, orders from my shop, swaps...I haven't had the chance to make something for me in a very long time...
So, I made this cute Granny Basket Tote.

I love the way it turned out, so bright and colorful and perfect for keep my crochet yarns...
Love it!!!!!

Then, I made myself a so cute and useful polar fleece poncho...
I had in mind to make it for so long time and now finally it's done!
I follow a very easy but great tutorial, you can find it HERE.
I embroidered two cute birds and changed a bit the pattern adding a binding all around.
It's so soft and warm and...when this morning I got up and I discovered that the boiler was not playing and there were more or less than 16 degrees in the house ... I was happy to use it for the first time ...LOL!!!
It's so soft and smooth and it's like to have someone who holds you in a warm hug... :O)

Last but not least...I bought myself a gift...A cute crochet book and it was delivered in my mailbox this morning...YAY!!!!!
I've already found some nice project that inspires me...

It's nice to occasionally spend a little of our time to ourselves and gratify with something that makes us happy ...

New Year...New Project!

How are you?
Did you have a nice end a great new start of the year???
I hope you did!!!!
Every year, the firsts days are so busy planning and dreaming about what we would like to do this year...
Finish old projects, start new ones, new challenges, improve something or try something new...
Doesn't matter how many of these projects will find a nice end...LOL...it is always nice to plan them!

So, my crafty new year starts with a new crochet project...
I chose something nice and easy and I decided to make it with my friend Nico.
She lives enough far from here so...it should be nice to do the same project at the same time and share each others progressess...
I found this nice Granny Basket on a crochet magazine bag and I chose the yarns...

My basket will looks a little different to the one on the magazine as I decided to use leftovers yarns from my stash!
This is a great project for do this!!!

I've already started to crochet the 1st block and I'm having so much fun!

So...can't wait to go ahead with this project!!!

Handmade Cards

Hello my friends!!!!!
I hope that you all have had a joyful, happy, merry and fun Christmas!!!!
Now that finally all my gifts reached theyr destinations, I can show you the homemade Christmas Cards I made this year...

I was bored about buy Xmas cards so...I tried to make them myself!
Let me say that...I'm not a card maker at all or...a scrappy girl so...I didn't have much clues about making cards...

I took white and red cardboard, ribbons, threads, buttons, card tags that I've found online for free and...this is the result!

Cut a seam of the cardboard with my zigzag rotary cutter, sewed ribbons and tags and glued buttons...

Surely I can't say they were Amazing or Gorgeous or Wonderful...
But I can say they were nice and pretty and...above all, they were made with the heart, not in series and having in mind every person to whom they were intended...

Waiting for Santa...

Hello my friends!!!
Could you believe there are only 5 days left to Christmas???
Wow...I can't...
Anyway...all around the house is ready for...Santa...
The cookies was baked (see them in my previous post) and all the ornaments are up...
In the picture above you can see how we decorate our stairs...
It's a simple decor but really nice especially in the evening when the little lights are on.
I'll try to take a pic of them too...

This year I made all my Christmas Tree decorations so I didn't have time to make other ornaments and so I displayed around the house all my "old" ones...
This is a Christmas table runner I made 2 years ago, I love it with the Reindeers and the Christmas Embroidery in the center...

My table is soooo big and so it's a big table runner...LOL!!!

Above you can see my Santa's Wall Hanging, the pattern is from a Art to Heart book.
I love it because it make me smile everytime I look at it...

This surely is my "oldest" one, I made it about 15 years ago...
It's hand cross stitched and I rember it was so hard cross stitch with metallic threads...they break soooo often and sooo easily...LOL!!!
When I made it, I wans't able to sew at all so I did the hand embroidery and my Mom sewed the panel with the back and the binding...

I was so proud of it, my first big project...
It says "Buon Natale" (Merry Christmas in italian language) and every letter has a cute Xmas symbol...a Xmas tree, a Candy Cane, a Xmas Wreath, an Angel, a comet, a camel...I remember that it took me lots of time to made it but I've had lots of fun!!!!

My Christmas Wreat for welcome friends and family during holiday season and my Reindeers panel...
Both bright and happy...LOL!!!

My cute little Gingerbread Man...made of felt 2 years ago...
It's up in the house all year long...
I love to have something Christmas-sy...always up! :O)

Christmas Birds House, made of a Debbie Mumm pattern several years ago...
But...I still love it...

Love all the details on it...

And finally...something not handmade but...equally nice...
The Christmas ball was a gift of my Mom, it has also a carillon that plays a Christmas music.
And the little red glass, is a candle holder, is painted by hand and was a gift from my Sister, she bought it in the north...if I remember well in Vienna more times ago...

Cookies for Christmas

How are you today?
Hope your Holidays season is going well!
This is my favourite time of the year...Ornaments, Christmas Tree, Christmas songs, make gifts for family and friends...

I'm used to bake Christmas cookies every year during Holiday season and so I did yesterday!
Last year I baked Gingerbread cookies...I loooove the smell all around the house when they are baking and I love theyr taste!
But, unfortunately...hubby doesn't like so much spiced cookies so this year I baked some very easy but delicious cookies, not spiced...LOL!!!

I would like to share my recipe with you as it's so easy and anybody will love them!!!
This is what you need:
Cookies cutters with Christmas shapes...
Mines are Gingerbread Man, Star, Chritmas Tree, Reindeer and Heart but...you can chose the shape you prefere!

Ingredients:
500 gr all purpose flour
150 gr granulated white sugar
150 gr unsalted butter
1 teaspoon backing powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Quickly knead all ingredients by hand or with the help of a mixer.
Form a ball and put it into the refrigerator for about half an hour.
Then, with the help of a rolling pin, roll out the dough to a thickness of about 3 mm and cut out the biscuits with the help of molds.
Bake cookies in preheated oven at 180° for about 10/12 minutes.
And...TADAAAAAAAA...this is what you'll get:

You can decorate them if you wish but I prefere them "naturals".

They are perfect served with hot tea...

But also... eaten one after the other while watching TV or reading a book...LOL!!!

One week left to Christmas!!!

Hello my friends!!!
How are you today?
It's unbelievable but...there is only 1 week left to Christmas...wow...time flew... :O)
So, all around the house is ready...

Finally, this year, I was able to "rebuilt" my Christmas tree and make it...crafty!!!

I crocheted some white garland, about 25 ans tied them with a red ribbon...

Then I embroidered with my embroidery machine about 30 white laces...and made a cute heart for the top of my tree...

I bought some white and red balls (but now I found a way to make them with yarns too so maybe next year...) and a white big ribbon with snowy trees printed...

I've added some cute little lights and...TADAAAAA...this is the result!
I have to say that I'm in love for my new Christmas tree and...a special thanks to my hubby because I made all the ornaments but...HE "dressed" the tree... :O)

Now...I'm going to make some Christmas cookies!!!!

Hello my friends!
How are you today?
I'm still busy sewing and crafting my Christmas presents and tree ornaments!!!
This year I decided to go with a White Christmas for my tree, this means that I'm making white or ivory ornaments and then I'll add some red balls...
So...ok...white and red Tree...LOL!!!!

I put my crochet ornaments in a jar while I was making them and I found it was a nice idea...
The jar looks pretty on my sewing room...

Today I finished to crochet them, I crochet 25 little garland, they are just tooooo pretty, easy and fun to crochet!
I found the pattern on THIS BLOG.

Uuuuuhhh...how many threads to weave in end and cut...LOL...

But...I've already did it...today was a very busy day...LOL!!!!

Now I need to add some colors with ribbons to my garlands and found a way to hang them on my tree...

Also my machine embroidered laces are done but they still need to be put in the water but...this will be another post...LOL!!!!
And...to full enjoy the Christmas atmosphere, this is my new manicure for the holidays... :O)

My Old Sleigh

My Dad found it some times ago in the attic...
It was a Christmas gift I've got from Santa many many years ago...
I can''t remember well but I think I was at least 9 or 10 years old...

I've really had some amazing and fun winter with it till the day...my sister (younger sister, she was really so tiny that time) and me finished on a iced lake...
We were sledding down the hill but at one point...the hill ended and...started the lake...
Near the coast the lake was well but in the center ice was melting...
I heard Mommy and Daddy yelling to push me to the ground and so I did before reaching the center of the melting.
But, we really ended up too much close to the icy waters of the lake...
The shock was great so my cute sledge ended its years hidden in the attic...
Since...few times ago...

My Dad was doing a cleaning in the attic and found it, sad, alone, old and covered by dust...
So he decided to clean and fit it for me and...voilà!!!!
You can see it in all "its splendor"!!!!! :O)

I settled it into a corner in my attic, next to a quilt and close to my sewing room.
So I can see it every day...
I've placed on top some of my favourites country magazines and it has become a perfect tiny table.

How many memories...THANK YOU DADDY!!!!!

Busy Working...

On Christmas gifts and tree decorations today...
Well...as usually...I'm really late in making my Christmas gifts... :O)
But today...I've really had so much fun choosing fabrics, planning, cutting, sewing...what a day...

These are some fabrics I chose but...I can't say what I've made with them...some of the people that will receive them...should read this post...LOL!!!!

I was not the only one so busy today...my sewing/embroidery machine worked so hard too...
In fact, I decided to "renew" our Christmas tree this year...and I would love to have an "handmade" one...
I mean that I'm making myself the tree decorations...
So...I'm making some embroidered laces with the embroidery machine...

My Christmas tree will be white and red so I'm making my laces in white...

Here there are some of them, tomorrow I will have to put them in the water so the "paper" around them will disappear and they will became real laces...
Plus, I'm crocheting some other ornaments but...I still have to take pics of them...
I will add some fabric and felt stars and hearts too and...mmm...maybe something else...
I have a brainstorm of ideas in mind and...I'm enjoying every single moment!!!

Sewing, sewing...sewing

Hello my friends!!!!
How are you?
Unfotunately...I feel sick...I started to feel bad last night and so today I took a day off to work...
With head ache, pain in every single bones and fever...it's not right go to work... LOL!!!
But...I can blog a bit...in the warm hug of my bed with my computer...

So, I want to show you what I've sewn lately...
Well...first of all...I was not alone.
I've had 2 wonderful Crafty Saturday with 2 special friends: Lucy and Nico.
With Lucy we've sewn a bunch of Tilda's items.
You can see the lavender wings above, they are soooo cute and smell wonderfully!
We've had sooooo much fun sewing them!!!

Then we've sewn the snail but...it's not completed...
Hubby is preparing for me a piece of wood and I'll add some little cushions and she will became my sewing helper!!!!

Then we made this awesome heart with wings, it's so cute and soft and i think it's perfect as Christmas decoration too!!!

Ok, now I want to show you what I've sewn with my friend Nico...

This is a wonderful Keyka Lou pattern and we really enjoyed make them (we made 2 of them, this one pictured is mine).

Not only it looks beautiful but it's also so practical!!!

It's so roomy inside and has 1 pocket that it's perfect for holds pens and it fit perfectly my iphone.

Plus you can keep your favourite book or what ever you need! I really had so much sewing these amazing things, hope you like them!!!

A day like Christmas

How are you today?
A new week is already started... :O(
But...I've had a very nice week end, especially Saturday...
In fact Saturday my dear friend Nico come here to visit me and we spent the whole day sewing together and chatting...it was really a beautiful day!!!

She gave me some wonderful Birthday gifts...
She made for me The beautiful crochet acorn pictured above...
Isn't it sooooo cute????

It's a yarn "case", you can put your yarn inside when you are crocheting or knitting and it keep it safe and clean... I loooove it!!!! :O)

Then she gave me this BIG ball of yarn and some delicious coffee chocolates...
I've already chose what I'll crochet with it and...the chocolate sure...will help...LOL!!!

So, thank you Nico for the wonderful time we've had together and for all your gifts!!!!

Mission Baby Quilt...DONE!!!

Hello my friends!!!
How are you today?
The baby quilt for Viola is finished and I would like to show you some shots of it...

Here there is a close up of the appliquè part...

I plaied a bit with some pictures effects and I love the way they turned out...

This is the nice fabric i chose for the back, a Beatrix Potter print.

I think it's sweet and happy at the same time.
The pattern was from Nancy Halvorsen book...Winsome Baby...

Now this quilt is already on Viola's room, hope she will have nice dreams under it!!!!

It's raining...I'm baking...

Hello my friends!!!!
How are you today?
here...it's still raining and raining and raining...
So...I started baking something...LOL!!!
I tried my very first American Apple Pie...

It tasted wonderfully with appleas, cinnamon, sugar...
I found the recipe HERE.
It's very easy to make and so delicious!!!

Then I baked something with potatoes, ham, eggs, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, provola cheese...

And...here it is:

It's perfect for cold days...soooooo yummy with all the cheese...

And hubby seems...to appreciate...LOL...

A quilt for Viola

Who's Viola?

Viola is a cute little girl, she was born about 3 weeks ago and I still never met her...

But...I'm making a sweet baby quilt for her...

Her Mom is the daughter of one of my really dear friend ans so I'm so happy to give her this little gift!

I chose some nice, bright and happy colors for her quilt.

Now, all the blocks are done, I have to sew them togheter and...finish the quilt!

Not the fun part...I love to make blocks and sew the top but...ohhh...the quilting part...is all another thing...LOL!!!!

But...I need to do it... :O)

I'll keep you posted about the progresses...

Today I would love to show you my latest crochet scarf...
Did I told you I'm a "bit" scarves addicted lately?????!!!!! :O)

Ok, said this...This is my new one.
I crocheted it with a very soft orange merino yarn and I made the border with the same kind of yarn but in light brown shades.
It's very soft and warm and I love to wear it around my neck or shoulders.
The pattern is from Know Sew Cute on Etsy, I love theyr pattern!!!!

Now...can't wait to start the next one...LOL!!!

we've had lot of rain yesterday and the temperatures fell down...wow...we saw the 1st snow on some cars...
It snowed at about 35 km from here...
Today it seems a little bit better...we will see...

Well...I would like to show you the new cell phone case I made for Mom!
She lost the old one I made for her and she needed a new one so...here it is...

I think it so cute and pretty and...totally "girly"...my Mom is a "Forever Girl" and so it's perfect for her...

I hope that she will keep this one for a while...LOL!!!!!

Scarf Addicted

Hello and happy Monday to all!
What about your week end?
Did you have a nice one?
I did, a relaxing and crafty week end...my favourite one...LOL!!!
Ok...I discovered that I'm scarf addicted lately, I love any kind of scarf especially if I can make it...LOL!!!
So, I'm crocheting scarves but...I also like make something with fabrics...I'm a quilter... :O)

I made myself this beautiful and so warm infinity scarf!
It's made of fleece and cotton fabric.
You can wear it around your neck and it's a super soft and warm neck warmer...

Due to it's generous size, you can wear it like a wrap...
And...ok...I can't show you in the picture because my "mannequin" is headless...LOL... but...you can also wear it around your neck and over your head...

I absolutely love the way it turned out and surely I'll make more!
I think they could be a great Xmas present!!!!

A wonderful Fall

Hello my friends!!!
How are you today?
Here in the north of Italy, we are having a unexpected wonderful fall this year...
Since yesterday the temperatures fell down a bit but it's still awesome!
These are some pictures I took in my yard, so as you can see, the flowers are still in bloom...

Our cherry tomatoes are still growing up, probably they didn't notice summer is ended...LOL!!!

Sky is always incredibly blue, with no clouds at all...

And our patio is still here, with the BBQ ready for us...
In the next days temperatures will go up again so probably...we'll come back to the beach...LOL!!!!
Hope this will continue for a while...too much beautiful!!!!

4 Seasons Swap: Fall

how are you today?
I can say I'm fine cause it's Friday evening here and...the week end is officially started!!!!! YAY!!!!

Well, today I would like to show you what I made for my 4 seasons swap - Autumn -
The members of this swap are my dear friends Nico, Chiara and Simo and this was the last round of our swap! :O(

So...I decided to make some autumn/halloween inspired Quilted Mug Rug!

I've never made mug rugs before but I have to say that...now that I started...it will be so hard to stop!!!!
They are so much fun to make and...really so usefull!!!
So, here there are 3 mug rugs I made:

I've also added some tea bags, wrapped them nicely and sent them to my friends!

Ok, it's officially: I HATE MOSQUITOES!!!!

Good Morning my friends!
It's Sunday, it's a beautiful day outside but...I'm not in the right mood this morning...
I tought time for mosquitoes bites was ended but...I was wrong...
I got up this morning with 5 new bites... :O(

It seems that lately...I'm theyr favourite food and...I really don't know why...
In the past, I've never had big problems with mosquitoes but this summer...wow...it's just crazy!!!!

I tried with sprays in the air, I tried with geranium plants, I tried with basil (ok...someone told me that they don't like basil so if you have a bit of it always near you you should be safe...), I tried with AUTAN but...never seems to work with them...

I'm not able to stop them...
Do you know some old remedy?
I'm just exausted to be a "mosquitoes pic nic"...LOL!!!

It's Saturday morning here so the week end is officially started!
I will have a busy week end, planning to sew and crochet a bit for adding new things in my Etsy Shop.
So...surely...I will have fun!!!

The sky is so blue this morning, no clouds anywhere and the air is so fresh...
This remember me that...Fall is just around the corner...
I do love Fall with its blue skyes, awesome foliage colors, fresh air, not too hot but...not still cold...

Shopping Day

Hello my friends!!!!!
how are you today?
I'm fine and...we are already in the middle of the week so...week end is not too far...LOL!!!

Well, I would like to show you what I bought on Monday...
Monday we had our annual fair here in town with lots and lots of stands selling anything...from food to clothes...
I found a wonderful stand that sold painting, pictures, vintage objects and decorations and so...I can't resist!!!!
I bought the wonderful painting (pic) you can see in the picture. It's already hanged on the wall, just over the fireplace...
I was (I AM!!!) a big big fan of "Happy Days" and when I saw it...believe me...I really could not leave it there...LOL!!!!

Isn't it fabulous???? :O)

Ok, then I found this super cute piece and I decided that it will stay in my sewing room, probably filled with buttons...

Then, I found this pretty clock, too cute for leave it there too...LOL!!!!
This will take place in my sewing room too!!!

Another "happy found" was this wooden sign saying "cucina" that means "kitchen" in italian.
It's adorable and I'm making some hearts to hang on it!

And finally...it's our tradition (Mommy and me) to buy something that you can only find on fairs and so...every year, we come home with something unusual, strange, maybe odd...and...sometimes...absolutely not functional...LOL!!!!
So, this year, I bought a pair of scissors with 5 blades...they are useful for cut anything in the kitchen: herbs, salade, tomatoes...or at least...this is what the man who was selling them said...LOL!!!!!

Anyway, it was a fun morning (oh yes...I bought all these things in few hours because in the afternoon...I went to work...LOL)!!!
So, can't wait for next fair...who can know what I'll bring at home...LOL!!!!

Another Shawl...DONE!!!!

Hello!!!!!
how are you today?
I would like to show you my new shawl, I've completed the Alpine Shawl I spoked you in a post some days ago...
I loved so much to make it, it took me 2 weeks and I only worked on it in the evening so...it was fast to make...

I absolutely love this shawl, it's so beautiful and soft and I think it will be perfect for Autumn...
The color is perfect to wear with jean and add a sophisticated touch to your look...

It's soft and warm and wrap perfectly around your shoulder or neck, this yarn (part wool and pasrt bamboo) is perfect for this kind of shawl I think...

I love pineapples, they are easy to make and look great!
And the fringes, are so unusual, not the classic fringes...they are fun!

Can't wait for fresh temperatures for start to wear it!!!! LOL!!!!!
Now...going to search another project...I'm crochet-holic...LOL!!!

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how are you today my friends?
I feel...GREAT!!!!
Today was the fifteen day of my diet and so...the last day!!!!
I'm so proud of myself cause I followed this diet...ok...it's only a 15 days diet but...it's a diet...LOL!!!
Especially for who, like me, loves candies, chocolates, biscuits, cakes, ice creams...OMG...how many wonderful things to eat there are in the world...
So...it's hard to not taste them...

Anyway, in 15 days I've lost 2 kilos and I'm happy about the result!

Tomorrow...ok, tomorrow will be my 1st day of non-diet but...I think I will follow the guide lines of this diet because I would not like to gain immediately my kilos...LOL!!!

Plus...the summer-break is almost ended and so in about 2 weeks, I'll start again to go to the gymnasium twice a week...

It's not easy to eat less and only "right" food but...I will try...my body deserve this!!!

Hello My Friends!!!
How are you?
I'm fine and...I'm sooooo HAPPY!!!!
I didn't post anything about my diet in the last days but...this not mean that I stopped it...I go ahead...strongly...LOL...and this morning...was the "checking day".
So...I check my weight and...DRUMROLL...2 KILOS LOST...TADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

I'm so happy about this result especially because I eat more well in this period then usual...I mean...no things that...taste wonderfully but...are so bad for our body and healt...
And...I really feel great!!!!

I learn to cook and eat in a better way and to appreciate simple things...so this is great for me!!!
Now...I still have 4 days left but...I don't think I will have problems following this way...

15 days of Diet: DAY FOUR + a new crochet project!

Hello!!!
how are you today?
well...first of all...let me say that...I LOOSE 1 KILOS!!!!!YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!
This morning I got up and...I was so worry about checking the weight and...surprise...1 kilos less!!!!!
So...it's easier to go ahead now...LOL!!!

Today was my 4th day of diet and...this was the menu:
BREAKFAST: mmm...it's always the same...
125 gr of natural yogurt mixed with 1 tablespoon of cornflakes and 1 tablespoon of muesli with 1 apple cut in small pieces + a cup of white tea.
I could change my breakfast, for example I can have a glass of milk with barley coffe plus 2 rusk bread with jam or 1 natural yogurt with 2 biscuits and fresh fruit but actually...I like more my breakfast...

1 cup of white tea in the middle of the morning

LUNCH: ok...also today I cooked 80 gr of integral pasta with ricotta cheese and cherry tomatoes plus basil...and 1 cup of white tea...I love this so much...
There are lots of other things I can eat but...Idon't like some of them at all, or...I can't find some of them...or...some are not quick to do so...I'm choosing what I like the most and it's easier and fast to prepare!

DINNER: I cooked sea bass again with a salade of carrots, corns, french beans and tomatoes plus 2 rice gallettes and 1 slice of melon.

So...also the 4th day is..."done" and...I feel good and...happy...LOL!!!

Now...ok...I'm on diet but...I'm also doing other things...not only eat less...LOL!!!
I started a new crochet shawl, here it is:

When I saw it...I fell in love with it and...had to try it!!!

So...I started it and this is what I've done so far:

It's similar to the grey shawl I made some months ago but this time I made it with wool so...it should be perfect for Autumn and winter I think!
I love the pineapple motif, it seems so intricate but it's easy to do and the result is awesome!

I chose a beautiful yarn, part wool and part bamboo, so soft and the color is a shade of periwinkle...I love it!

15 Days of Diet: DAY TREE

Hello!!!
Day three is here...LOL!!!!
Ok, let's start with the menu...
BREAKFAST: always the same...125 gr of natural yogurt mixed with a tablespoon of muesli and 1 tablespoon of cornflakes plus 1 appled cutted in small pieces...and of course...a cup of white tea...
I'm goin to love this breakfast and this is incredible as in the past...mmm...20 years I think...my breakfast was always the same: hot milk with coffee and cornflakes...wow...what a change...LOL!!!!

1 cup of white tea in the middle of the morning

LUNCH: salade of carrots and cherry tomatoes with small pieces of feta cheese and 2 rice gallettes...so delicious! Don't forget a cup of white tea...LOL!!!

Another cup of white tea in the middle of the afternoon...
And...OMG...a colleague brought to office a wonderful cake...with cream, chocolate and biscuits...it looked sooooooo yummy and soooo delicious and...I said...NO THANKS...!!!!!! what a pain... ;O)

DINNER: I cooked turkey with rosemary, sage, onion and some powder spices, plus salt, pepper and...some pieces of lime...I never cooked it before and I have to say that it tasted so good!
Plus...a green salade with tomatoes and 2 slices of melon.

After dinner we went out for 1 hour of fit walking and...I feel great now!
But...tomorrow...mmm...will be the day that for the first time I'll check my weight...
I really hope that...I'm loosing something but...I'll let you know tomorrow...

15 Days of Diet: DAY TWO

Hello!!!
How are you today?
This is my 2nd day of diet and...all is going well...

So, this is my today menu...
BREAKFAST: 125 gr of natural yogurt mixed with 1 tablespoon of cornflakes, 1 tablespoon of muesly and 1 apple cutted in smal pieces...plus a cup of white tea.
I have to say that today was much better then yesterday because I mixed all together with the apple that is sweet and so the yogurt was not bad...I love yogurt so much but...not the natural one...LOL!!1
But...believe me, this mix is delicious!!!

I drinked another cup pf white tea in the middle of the morning...
LUNCH: 80 gr of integral pasta with ricotta cheese, cherry tomatoes and basil...soooooo yummy!!!!!!

1 cup of white tea in the middle of the afternoon...

DINNER: sea bass cooked in the oven with only aromatic herbs and lemon (I eated only half fish) and a salade of bolied french bens with tomatoes and egg (ok...I didn't eat the egg...only my hubby could eat it...LOL) and a slice of melon.

Ok...I can say...DAY TWO...I FEEL GOOD... ;o)

15 Days of Diet: DAY ONE

Ok...today is the "D" day...the day I'm starting my Diet...
I don't need a drastic diet for loose so much weight...
I need more a "depurative" one that helps to "depurate" my body after soooo many wrong things I ate...

Lately I've had a so stressful time and...shame on me...I'm one of these people that...under stress...eat...
But...I'm not eating so much things...well...when I'm stressed I don't eat tons of foods but...absolutely....I eat wrong foods... (candies, chocolate, chips, cakes, ice cream...)
So, you can imagine how "not so nice" I feel...

Ok, I did a search on the internet and I found the "Detox" diet and I think that a version of it should be perfect for me...
First...because you have to follow it for only 15 days (it promises beautiful skin, wonderful hair, more energy and...last but not least...lose some weight!!!)
Now...I know that this is not the magic thing that in 15 days...will change my body and my world...LOL...but surely it can helps me to feel better...
This diet is focused on cereal, fibers, vegetables (better if they are natural and not cooked), white meat and fish.
So...I decided to try and...today was the 1st day...
This is what I eated today:
BREAKFAST: 125 gr of natural yogurt with 2 tablespoon of cornflakes, 1 apple and a cup of white tea.

In this diet you have to drink at least 1 litre of white tea a day...
You can only eat white tea and water.
Then, in the middle of the morning I eated another cup of white tea.

DINNER: a dish of cherry tomatoes and mozzarella and 2 rice galettes + 1 cup of white tea.

In the middle of the afternoon, a cup of white tea.

DINNER: 80 gr of integral rice cooked with tomatoes and a salade of tomatoes and carrots, plus a slice of melon.

Ok...this is my day one and...I feel good!!! LOL!!!!

Oh...before I forget...now my weight is 53 kilos...we will see in the next days...

I'll try to post every day my menu and...my progresses...

Today...BBQ Day!!!

Hi again!
Today was holiday here in Italy (Ferragosto) so hubby and I decided to have BBQ...
We grilled ANYTHING we like so...fish, potatoes, corns, cheese, sweet pepper...

All was really so delicious!
We eated in our yard, near the BBQ with music...so fun!!!!

After lunch, we needed a good coffee...we had a bit of relax reading and crocheting and...we ended our fun afternoon with an iced Mojito...
What a lovely day!!!!

Italian Tomato Sauce Recipe

Hi my friends!!!
How are you today?
Well...if you like Pasta and Tomato Sauce, this is the recipe for you!
I made this 2 days ago and would like to share it with you, thinking that maybe someone could like to try it!

First, you need fresh tomatoes (of course...LOL), better if they are homegrown...

Wash very well your tomatoes...

Cut them into big pieces and put them into a mixer

Blend tomatoes reducing them into cream and put them in a big casserole

Now take some vegetables and spices...
I used celery, sage, onion and basil...

Put them into the mixer, blend them reducing them into a crem as you did before for the tomates

Add this cream to the tomato cream in your casserole, then add salt and extra virgin olive oil and cook it for about 40-45 minutes, mixing it gently with a wood tablespoon...

This is the result:

Ok...now you can put your tomato sauce into jars, put them into a big casserole, completely covered by water and boil them for half an hour...

Put labels on the jars and...

This tomato sauce is perfect for cooking pasta, but also meat, vegetables, eggs...or anything else you like!!!
You can save it for more than a year!!!

Some colors in this odd summer

Hello my friends!!!
how are you?
I would love to show you my latest crochet creation...a colorful and happy shawl!!!

Some times ago I bought some skeins of yarns because I would love to make a blanket...
Well...I still never made that blanket...LOL...so I decided to use them for make a shawl!

I don't know if also in other countries this summer is not a real summer like here in the Norht of Italy...
I have to say that this is the 1st week that we are having nice weather but...our summer is almost finished...
We have had always grey sky, rain, cold, wind...amazing isn't it?
So I tought that some colorful yarns could bring me the summer spirit...!!!!

So...this is what I made...

I've had sooo much fun making it and I love the way it turned out!
Probably it will be my Mom next Xmas present...
I still have other skeins of the same yarns in different colors so surely I'll make others!
They are so fun and easy to make and you can make it while you are watching television, chatting...

how are you today?

A new week is started (it's already Tuesday...LOL) but I would like to show you what I did past Sunday...

Well...I have to say that I'm more a beach girl than a mountain girl but...I enjoyed the Sunday's Adventure!

Hubby and Brother in Law show us the road...LOL...

Shades of purple on the wall

Hello my friends!!!
Do you remember the quilt I was working on some times ago?
I wrote about it in a post about one month ago I think...
Well...finally it's finished and it's now displayed on my bedroom wall.
I love the way it turned out, I love purple and here there are shades of purple that are perfects on my bedroom!

As you can see, it's a simple quilt, perfect for use these beautiful fabrics that you fell in love and would not like to cut in too much tiny pieces...LOL!!!!

I've designed it and make it and this is really so much fun for me!!!!
I started with an idea on my mind and...I'll end with a quilt on my wall...LOL!!!

I've added some appliquè for make it nicer...
Two birds in love on a brach...

Some colorful butterflies...that give it a spring-y look...

And...grass...

I made in this way my Purple Enchanted Garden!

My Holidays on the French Riviera part 2: Old town, Menton by Night and...FOOD!!!!

Hello My friends!!!
How are you today?
here there are other pictures of my holidays...
You can see a mosaic of pictures of the old town.
Beautiful little alleys inside the town are accessibles by old stairs...

Each house is so caracteristic with old trees, flowers, colorful windows...

And...the town by night...is so beautiful with his lights, music, open markets on the roads and lots of people...

It's so nice to walk in the night, the air is fresh and you can feel the smell of the foods...pizza, fishes, french fries, pasta, crepes...and you can't wait to stop in a cute restaurant and...try them all!!!!

A bag for a wedding

Hello my friends!!!
yesterday morning I was in a creative mood and so I decided to make myself a new bag...
I need a new bag/purse for a wedding that will be the 30th of July...
Usually, I don't like very much the kind of bag/purse you wear to wedding parties because they are small...and I love big purses as I always have so much things to carry with me...LOL!!!!
So...having this in mind...I absolutely would not like to waste my money for a purse that I probably only use one day for few hours...

So, I decided to make myself a cute wedding purse...
I'll wear a beautiful pearl grey oriental style silk dress with red flowers and grey sandals so I need something in these colors...

I looked into my stash and I found some cute fabrics that could work, then I've also found some silk scraps and laces...The colors' combination looked so perfect to me...

I took one of my Tilda's book and I found a pattern that perfectly suits my taste...

And...in a couple of hours...I made it!!!!

I'm so happy with the result and I think my cute new purse goes perfectly with my dress...

So...what do you think?

My Holidays on the French Riviera part 1: The Sea

Hello my friends!!!
Last week finally I've had some days off to work and so hubby and I spent our vacations on the French Riviera in a beautiful town called Menton.
It's only about 2 hours and half drive from our town but...believe me...it's all another world...

First because there is the sea...LOL...our town is surrounded by mountains...
Then, as this town is part of the Cote d'Azur and it'ls also part of the Provence, it has the typical look of the French towns...really well trimmed, you can find flowers everywhere, small bistrots and cute restaurants and...the sea is wonderful!

We enjoyed so much our stay there! we only go a couple of hours one afternoon on the beach, it was hot and with lots of people so...we decided to walk...
And...we walked soooo much, lots and lots of kilometres...LOL!!!!
There are beautiful "promenades" there, so relaxing near the sea...

So...our days were as follow...more or less...
We got up not too much early in the morning, we wore our walking shoes, shorts and tank top (hubby a T-short...LOL) and we went to have our breakfast in a nice italian bar...
Cappuccino and croissants were wonderful!

We walked for about 2 hours, then we come back to the town for lunch that usually was ice cream...

Then we come back to the hotel for have a bit of rest and we did another walk in the afternoon...

Then we come back again to the hotel for a shower and for get ready for the evening-night...
The nights were magics...thousands of people everywhere, restaurants open till late, music, open market near the beach...

I think this is a little paradise not too much far from us...

In effect, this is our first holiday there but...we go there since we were...younger...LOL...about 20 years ago...

Every summer we went there 2 or 3 times...also if only for 1 day...we can't miss it!!!!

In the next posts, I'll show you the old town, Menton by night and the delicious food!!!

Flying to Australia

Hi and happy Sunday my friends!!!
How are you?
I'm packing as tomorrow hubby and I will go some days to the beach on the French Riviera.
Hope to get nice weather there as here is still so much crazy...one day soooo hot and the day after, we get rain, wind, jail!!!! CRAZY!!!!
Today I'd like to show you a Fap I made and sent yesterday to Australia! A FAP is a Fabric Artistic Postcard and it's so much to make them and send them throught the snail mail!!!
This one will have a long long trip to do till Australia so I hope it will reach my friend in good shape!!!

I got inspiration for my Fap from my garden, I was looking at some very busy bees on lavender and...the idea came in my mind! Lilac and purple colors and a "swirl" embroidery looks so nice...
I added a romantic touch with a white lace.
If you've never made one, you have to try, it's really so much fun!!!
